Hey fellas!! How’re you all?? So sorry for such a long break but don’t worry I’m back.. And back with something really amazing as the whole world is all set for Christmas and will have to find some really amazing place to hang out with the friends on the Christmas Eve. The stay has to be a memorable one as if one will think about it anytime in his/her life has a urge to experience such thing again. Well, you all are looking for pubs, bars, clubs as usual for having a great Christmas Eve, that seems a great idea. But what about if you get a chance to celebrate the eve on a Magic Mountain. Yeah a mountain that can make your this year Christmas worth remembering it…

To feel the magic, all you have to do is to sail to the beautiful South America. There, you gonna be amazed for sure after getting a glimpse of this nature’s masterpiece. The ‘Huilo Huilo Montana Magica Lodge‘ in the Andes mountain range in Chile gives guests the oppurtunity to stay in the rooms built into a grass covered mountain structure called the ‘Magic Mountain’. The eco-friendly resort also offers several other types accomodation, including boutique lodges, forest cabins, aprtments and camping facilities.

It’s a 13 room hotel looks like it came straight from middle earth. The lodge sits in the private Huilo-Huilo Biological Reserve in northern Chile’s Patagonia and is a celebration of the rich natural heritage that the preserve aims to protect. And get this– visitors enter the establishment on a suspended rope bridge and are greeted by a cascade of water coming down from the cone shaped green roof.

The Lodge sits on a diverse forest region in northern Patagonia and is a base camp at the Hulio Hulio preserve for ecotourists looking to spot a puma or explore the local waterfalls. The hotel is cone shaped with dormer windows peaking out of its vegetated and stone façade. A water spot on top pours over the roof, drenching the plants and anyone at the base of the building. The playful design is intended to evoke an ancient legend that speaks of a magic mountain in the area that grants wishes.

Other activities include the possibility of Whitewater rafting and fly fishing trips on the river Fuy and Enco. For those not so wanting to get into the river, there is also the spectacular series of waterfalls. Just a Kilometer from the Magic Mountain Hotel is the Salto de la Leona, or the Lion waterfall. A short distance away by car is the more famous Huilo Huilo waterfall. Also do not miss visiting the Pirihueico Lake.

The rooms at the Magic Mountain are interesting. As the hotel is basically a pyramid, the stairs curve around a central pillar, and the rooms radiate out from the center. Please consider when selecting a room that the larger rooms will be towards the lower floors. The rooms are consistent with the overall hotel theme. Much of the furnishings and decor are of ruff cut logs, left to naturally twist and bend around the room. The large windows, give even the smallest rooms the impression of being much larger than they are by flooding the room with light and adding warm tones to the wood.

The reserve is a privately held 600 square kilometer park dedicated to the preservation of the region’s biodiversity and fauna. The surrounding land, located on the northern edge of Patagonia right in the center of Chile sees all four seasons and is a very wet region. The rich diversity of land types and the relatively undeveloped region is a huge draw for international tourists seeking to see one of the wildest places left on the planet. If you don’t get your wish fulfilled, at least there is a bar, a restaurant, and a sauna inside. Outside, there are hot tubs which are made out of huge trunks of trees, dug out, and then filled with hot water perched on a deck overlooking the forest. This is really a place to take a very good glass of Chilean wine and relax at the end of the day. The lodge is designed using local building materials and labor and all the wood was carefully harvested locally as well.

By the way, the Magic Mountain has very very good Chilean Wines. The restaurant is simply one of the best in Southern Chile. Even if you never stay at the Magic Mountain, we would definitely encourage you to stop by for lunch, dinner, or even just a drink.
